Juneteenth Celebration

The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 19 at the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center (1100 Michigan Ave, Washington, DC, 20017). We will engage in mindfulness activities, yoga, arts and crafts, and more from 10am – 12pm. The event is open to all families and students.

Juneteenth is the oldest national celebration commemorating the end of slavery and June is national Pride Month, which promotes the affirmation and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. This event seeks to highlight the importance of intersectionality, centering the unique experiences of our LGBTQ+ Black youth and to affirm them.

DCIAA Free Physical Day – Sat, June 12 – Eastern HS

The DCIAA is proud to announce the return of our free physical day for student-athletes. This is a great opportunity for students to complete their paperwork and become eligible for the upcoming 2021-22 school year. Students will need a valid physical on file to participate in any athletic activities over the summer or during the school year.

 

When: Saturday, June 12 from 8:30am-1:30pm. No registration is needed.

Where: Eastern High School (1700 E Capitol St NE). Parking is available behind the school on A St.

Who: All returning and incoming student-athletes (grades 4-12 in school year 2021-22).

How to Prepare: Parents must complete and sign Part 1 of the Universal Health Certificate (UHC). Students must bring this document with them to the free physical day.

FREE Summer Baseball

 

We are offering a free and fun summer instructional baseball league for boys and girls ages 6-12. The summer league will be in the evenings between June 28th-August 5th.

While Nats Academy is our host site in Ward 7, our Ward 8 site (just a few minutes from your school) will be at Oxon Run (900 Mississippi Avenue SE, Washington DC).  We are eager for DC youth—and Patterson students — to safely get back out on the fields to play, exercise, and be with their peers.

Family Listening Sessions for Parent/Guardian/Caregivers
