Welcome Back To School Letter (REVISED)
A District of Columbia Public School
Our school is located in Ward 8.
To enable future planning and for the convenience of students, staff, and families, DCPS will release the SY23-26 calendars this upcoming winter. Please review the proposed calendars and share your feedback at this link:

by Sunday, October 31 in order to help shape our upcoming calendars!
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 19 at the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center (1100 Michigan Ave, Washington, DC, 20017). We will engage in mindfulness activities, yoga, arts and crafts, and more from 10am – 12pm. The event is open to all families and students.
Juneteenth is the oldest national celebration commemorating the end of slavery and June is national Pride Month, which promotes the affirmation and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. This event seeks to highlight the importance of intersectionality, centering the unique experiences of our LGBTQ+ Black youth and to affirm them.

Register NOW for our #Juneteenth Celebration! @DCSBOE @Ward5EEc @dcpspublicschools @FriendshipPCS @DCOmbuds @DC_Advocate invite you for a day of fun in the sun to meet and celebrate our LGBTQ+ Black Youth. Don’t forget your mat & a friend as we come together to focus on the intersectionality of race and sexuality.
We are offering a free and fun summer instructional baseball league for boys and girls ages 6-12. The summer league will be in the evenings between June 28th-August 5th.
While Nats Academy is our host site in Ward 7, our Ward 8 site (just a few minutes from your school) will be at Oxon Run (900 Mississippi Avenue SE, Washington DC). We are eager for DC youth—and Patterson students — to safely get back out on the fields to play, exercise, and be with their peers.
We are partnering with the DCPS Family Engagement Team to conduct a series of Family Listening Sessions for Parent/Guardian/Caregivers about recovery/School Year 2021-22 and we would love your participation! The session will take place on April 21 at 10am. Your voice matter to us and we want to make sure that all families have an opportunity to share their opinion.
Please RSVP here if you are interested in participating or just go to bit.ly/PattersonFamilyListening at the date and time above.
Reach out to ceo.info@k12.dc.gov if you have any questions.
