This October, we proudly celebrate National Principals Month by honoring the incredible leadership of Dr. Victorie Thomas-Gerald, Principal of Patterson Elementary, for the past 13 years. Her unwavering dedication has shaped Patterson into a thriving, inclusive, and joyful learning community.

Each day, Dr. Thomas-Gerald leads with heart and purpose— greeting students and families at the door, observing classrooms, supporting staff, and stepping in wherever she’s needed, from the nurse’s suite to the playground. Her commitment ensures that Patterson runs smoothly and that every child feels seen, supported, and empowered.

PK4 – 12th grade English Learner Summer Academic Program (ELSAP)

The DCPS Family and Community Engagement team is hosting a session for Spanish-speaking families this Tuesday, May 16 at 5pm on Zoom. Erika Pereira from the Language Access Division will be sharing information about and how parents can enroll their students. And Devin Smith from the Office of Teaching and Learning will be sharing programming information for students who signed up for Elementary School Summer Acceleration (spots no longer available)
